Breed Information
The New Forest Ponies continually show their versitility and stamina. With their huge strides, they easily compete in horse classes. They make great all-rounders for riders of all ages.
Our mares trace to the well-known bloodlines of Mrs. Mary Wilson's Jacobs Farms of Massachusetts and that of the Holbrook's Forest Hill Stud of Ontario, forming the nucleus of our breeding program. Our mission is to carry on the traditions of these two farms by continuing to produce quality family ponies for show, breeding and pleasure.
We bred two of our mares to the stallions at Forest Hill. One to imported Vernon’s Starling and the other to Jacobs Pied Piper. After our first foals arrived we decided to lease and eventually purchase stallion Fox Hollow Danny Boy from June Cleave.
In 1994 we made a decision to add new bloodlines and imported Woodrow Fieldmaster from Britain. It had been 25 years since the last British bred pony had been imported. Like his predecessors Fielder was already a champion in his homeland. He went on to be undefeated as “Canadian Champion New Forest Pony Best of Breed” and “Champion New Forest Stallion” every year shown until the show was no longer run.
New Forest Ponies have recently been added to the list of rare breeds according to the Rare Breeds Survival Trust(RBST).
We have been fortunate to have had our ponies compete successful in numerous disciplines including: halter, dressage, hunter, jumper, horse trials, pleasure driving, obstacle driving, combined driving and Pony Club Prince Phillip Games. A number of our ponies have been exported to the United States.
